No voices can be heard during a conference

If you have joined a conference already in progress and cannot hear any voices, the following causes are likely:

Incorrect audio device selected

Go to the control panel: Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Audio device control.

Go to "Playback" tab of "Sound" window and make sure the default audio playback device (speakers or headphones) matches your actual selection.

If necessary, change the default audio playback device by selecting the desired device and clicking "Default" button.

Incorrect audio device output selected

If your audio card is equipped with both analog and digital output, incorrect output selection can result in loss of audible sound. Go to the control panel: Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Audio device control.

A window with a list of available audio devices will open. Select your current audio device and click "Properties" button.

Go to "Additional" tab of the new window and make sure the correct audio output is checked.

If you use the digital audio output, check it; otherwise, uncheck it. Click "OK".

Audio volume is muted or too low

To access the volume control, go to the control panel: Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Volume control.

Volume control window will open. Make sure your audio device volume is not muted and not too low. If your audio device is muted, unmute it. If your audio device's volume is too low, adjust it with the volume control slider.

Go to "Recording" tab, select your microphone and click "Properties" button.

Go to "Levels" tab to access the microphone volume control. Adjust microphone volume with the volume control slider and click "OK".

Multiple video conferences may be open in the browser

Make sure only one video conference browser window is open. Close all extra browser windows.

Port used by VideoMost for data transfer may be blocked

If a port used by VideoMost for data transfer is blocked, the system cannot establish a direct connection and is forced to reroute data packets. Due to the longer data travel time and increased data losses, resulting audio quality can suffer. Please contact your system administrator and explain that you need open ports for RTP protocol.
